I was mass email marketing but did not tend to the ‘blog. I know about them, but… as far as managing, I m managing an orchard, forgot the blog part!
Plus as some of you learned,
Julian picking region got Kay ed
Fri 0909, bringing 4” needed rain
Also 70 mph winds brought down fruit
that pickers could have got.
Good thing few pickers showed
0910 and 0912
Sa 0917 We had 98 groups
Su 0918 70 groups picking
on 80 trees that had ripe fruit to pick,
when reds and goldens ran out,
had the option of picking from ground or
boxes with the explicit understanding that
because they touched the ground should be cooked or fermented to kill any bacteria. Phew!
That said, I have a few Granny Smiths
( think green,firm, tart, could ripen into October if pickers let them)
