Apple picking in November? Yes!

kenbanewleaf

Maybe hard to believe in So Cali, but read on and you ll be a believer! Winter in 2022-23 gave us great numbers of storms heaven sent, almost what we needed and ordered! Continuing with a cooler spring, blossoming and pollination gave us what for me after 3 years of droughty seasons and struggling mightily to keep trees irrigated through the summers, was a welcome relief.

Trees bore much heavier crops and apples gained in size. Now in late November I can report that I still have limited numbers of

Granny Smith apples to offer: green, firm, tart, good for pies. As far as weather goes, dress warmly and possibly drizzle. Perfect apple picking conditions, in So Cali!
