Apples are taking shape and gaining in size and weight. Here at 3803 Wynola Road I water trees by various means, The fact that trees range in age many as old as 70- 100 plus years old means that they have well developed deep root systems. I do not overpamper them, given that San Diego has a definite wet winter/ dry summer cycle. Having had two very wet winters 2022- 2023 and 2023-2024, I tilled the entire orchard in November and planted cover crop that just before the rains have added an element of soil building that had been absent for years if not decades previously! Reason to celebrate, now to manage those pesky ground squirrels from next property over! If anyone wants to buy that property and take them on, it s for sale 39 acres 1.999 million!
